Castelcomer District Community Development Network (CDCD) was established under the operational programme for local development to support the area of North East Kilkenny which is traditionally divided into Castlecomer, Clogh, Moonenroe, Coon/Muckalee/Ballyfoyle, Conahy and Ballyragget. (Combined population 80,000)
CDCD Network community work team, works with local voluntary and community groups, statutory agencies and social partners to implement the Strategic Plan 2000-2006 for North East Kilkenny, which incorporates measures to promote social inclusion in the areas of Community Development, Unemployment, Youth, Education and Training. All measures are gender, disability, equality and rural proofed and include one to one work with the long-term unemployed, women, people with disabilities, young people and the elderly.
