Training and Education Programmes
Barrow Nore Suir Rural Development (BNS) is the local agency delivering the EU LEADER Programme and the National Development Programme for Rural Development, in Kilkenny and South-East Tipperary. It provides funding for a wide number of training and education programmes which aims at improving the economic, social, or cultural 'quality of life' of the rural community. BNS on the Boards approval may take on the co-ordination and deliver of a course or alternatively if training is readily available from another convenient source BNS may grant-aid participants on this scheduled course. BNS is currently a FETAC accredited training centre.
The company is currently part of a process in Kilkenny which will see the introduction of a new company in the coming months. Once this new structure is in place it is intended to deliver programmes, on computer training, alternative enterprises, renewable energies, tourism, food, farm diversification, community and voluntary sector training, community and rural development in addition to a number of third level courses
